Fields Tea Bowl

These Fields bowls are made especially for tea ceremony by Dutch potter and chajin (tea person) Xander.
Crafted from French clay and covered with a soft, light glaze, each bowl is washed in gentle green-blue tones with deeper brown spots – like rain falling on open fields.

Every piece is unique in its flow of colour and pattern. When several bowls gather in ceremony, they create a calm landscape of shifting tones.
The base of each bowl is carefully sanded, giving it a smooth and stable stand on table or tatami.

The surface is more glassy than that of our white bowls, so the character of the tea is reflected clearly.

When you order a bowl, we will intuitively select one for you. Because each piece is handmade, the exact pattern and dimensions will differ slightly from the bowls shown in the photos.
